On July 28, 2025, at 09:55am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Zirbes met with Licensee Cassandra Haney who guided analyst on a tour of the home for the Annual/Random inspection. Upon arrival, LPA observed five children in care (one infant and all others over the age of two) with the Licensee providing supervision. Currently living in the home is the Licensee, and four minor children age. All adults are associated and have eligible clearances. Current days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:00am to 10:00pm. Physical Plant: This is a single story house with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, daycare room, attached garage, with a front and backyard. The following areas of the home are on limits: the daycare room, living room, dining room, kitchen, backyard and hallway bathroom. The off-limits areas consist of: all three bedrooms, bathroom within the primary bedroom, and the garage. These areas have been made inaccessible via the use of door locks and child safety locks. The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medicines and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. During the inspection, LPA observed a child safety latches on the kitchen cabinets containing cleaning supplies. LPA observed household medications were stored in high inaccessible kitchen cabinets. LPA advised the Licensee to relocate the medications or install a child safety lock on the cabinet since the Licensee is enrolling additional school age children in the program. Knives and sharp kitchen items were stored in a container located in a high inaccessible kitchen cabinet shelf. Report continued on page two Report continued from page one During the inspection the smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were tested. An audible sound was heard where the items were tested therefore the smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were found to be operable at this time. The home has central heating and air conditioning. A fireplace was in the living room. The fireplace was inaccessible via a child safe lock placed on the glass fireplace door. LPA did not observe baby bouncers/saucer chairs, or any recalled and or prohibited toys on the premises. Per Licensee, there are zero firearms or weapons stored in the family child care. Based on LPA observations the family child care is meeting the requirements for a single action door handles on exit doors. Bathroom (located in the hallway of the home): Toilet, sink, shower/tub were clean and operable. Personal hygiene materials were accessible at the time of this inspection. Outdoor: The backyard is fully enclosed with a wooden fence. LPA observed the backyard consists of a covered patio and a dirt play space. Per Licensee, there is one dog on the property at the time of this inspection. Per Licensee the dog is current on shots and based on LPA observations the dog does interact with the child care children. LPA reviewed five child files, and the Licensees file. Per LPA review, all child files and the Licenses files were complete and contained the required documentation. Review of records to be maintained: LPA reviewed with licensee the LIC 311D, Forms/Records To Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children\342\200\231s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted. Per recorded documentation the last fire drill occurred in June 2025 and the fire extinguisher was serviced in September 2024. The following was discussed with the licensee: Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Report continued on page three Report continued from page two LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/ safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. During the exit interview, the Licensee Cassandra Haney, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
