What the inspector wrote

On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA’s), (Sherell Braddock and Hanna Cha) conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for a Decrease in capacity from 42 school age children to 30 school age children from the age of 5 years old to 12 years old. The reason for the decrease is due to the facility relinquishing one restroom that is currently being used for the school age children and re-assigning the restroom to the preschool component. Upon arrival, LPA met with Facility Representative Patricia Jacobs and Claudia Garcia. Facility is requesting to be licensed for # 30 (Thirty) school age children in the village/School Age classroom. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 6:30pm. Present during today’s inspection were 0 school age children with (5) staff. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Patricia Jacobs that staff are required to always maintain direct visual supervision of the children during indoor and outdoor activities. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via disposable cups. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. (Fire clearance was granted on (01/07/25). LPA observed a total of (2) sinks and (2) toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of (30) children. The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. Fencing is a iron is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space is (102 X 90 = 9180/75 = 122 ) , which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is a climbing structure on the playground for children ages which is properly anchored. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of climber provided by Drinking water is available via (Disposable cups). LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Patricia Jacobs was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. At this time, no corrections are needed. A license for ( 30 ) children will be granted upon a final file review. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was read and provided to Director Patricia Jacobs and Claudia Garcia must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. along with a copy of her appeal rights and Notice of Site Visit.
