What the inspector wrote

On Wednesday, February 5, 202) Licensing Program Analyst (LPA's), Sherell Braddock and Hanna Cha conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for an INCREASE in capacity from 12 preschool students to 30 preschool students. Upon arrival, LPA met with Facility Representatives Patricia Jacobs and Claudia Garcia. . The facility is requesting to be licensed for 30 preschool children in preschool classroom's #1 and #2. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 6:30pm. Present during today’s inspection were (10) children with (5) staff. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Patricia Jacobs that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. LPA continued to tour the facility and measured new additional indoor activity space (preschool classroom #2. Total indoor activity space measured (720 sq ft ), which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 20 Children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via disposable water cups . LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. (Fire clearance was granted on (01/07/25).LPA observed a total of (3) sinks and (2) toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of (30) children. The restrooms are located through classroom to the left. The 1 st restroom has a blue exterior door and the 2nd restroom has a green exterior door. Both restrooms have 1 sink and 1 toilet. The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. Fencing is a brown iron fence at least four feet high in the front and a chain link fence on the back with a brick wall also. There are trees outside that provide shade to children while playing. There is sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is a climbing structure on the playground for children which is properly anchored. Drinking water is available via (Disposable cups). LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Patricia Jacobs was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). A license for ( 30 ) children will be granted upon a final file review from a LPM. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was read and provided to Director Patricia Jacobs and Claudia Garcia. and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. along with a copy of her appeal rights and Notice of Site Visit.
