Regarding the allegation that staff did not notify parents of children\342\200\231s injuries, LPA Waters conducted confidential staff interviews; reviewed Brightwheel app communications related to injuries; and reviewed the center\342\200\231s policies, procedures, and parent handbook. During the review of the Brightwheel app, LPA Waters observed several \342\200\234ouch\342\200\235 reports for children enrolled, which was consistent with the center\342\200\231s reporting practices. LPA Waters confirmed that injuries known to staff are documented and communicated to parents through the app. Confidential Staff interviews indicated that some children may sustain minor injuries that are not observed or reported to staff and therefore do not document or report it to parents. Although an injury may have occurred while the child was in care, LPA Waters could not corroborate the allegation that staff fail to notify parents of injuries. Regarding the allegation that staff were speaking inappropriately in front of daycare children, LPA Waters conducted confidential staff interviews. Interviews revealed that one parent felt staff had spoken to them in an inappropriate manner. However, further interviews did not provide evidence that any inappropriate language was used in the presence of children, and staff denied the allegation. Regarding the allegation that staff interacted with a child in an inappropriate manner, confidential interviews revealed that the concern was based on information reported to the R/P. However, there were no witnesses to the alleged incident, and no individuals had first-hand knowledge of any inappropriate interaction between staff and a child. LPA Waters found no specific incident where this may have occurred. Regarding the allegation that staff do not keep the playground safe, LPA Waters conducted an inspection of all four playground areas. LPA Waters observed that all toys and equipment were in good repair, the ground under climbing equipment had the required amount of absorbent material, and each area contained age-appropriate equipment. Interviews with staff revealed that playgrounds are cleaned daily during nap time to ensure the playgrounds are kept safe. Based on observation and interviews, LPA Waters was unable to corroborate the allegation. The agency has investigated the above allegations and although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED. An exit interview was conducted. A copy of this report was provided to the facility and a Notice of Site Visit to be posted for 30 days. This report must be made available for public review for 3 years upon request.
