What the inspector wrote

On 4/7/23 at 8:45am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Patrick Ma and Gerald Poindexter conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for the purpose of measuring and inspecting the playgrounds. Upon arrival, LPA\342\200\231s met with Director of Development Susan Kolle and spoke with Director Adela Corrales over the phone. School was closed for parent/teacher conferences but had 28 children in care for parents involved in the conferences supervised by 4 staff members. This facility is currently licensed for 142 children and identified 3 playground areas during their last annual inspection. Playgrounds were measured and photos were taken. Playground 1 \342\200\223 Serengeti measured 13,771 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate up to 183 children. Playground 2 \342\200\223 Boat Playground measured at 7560 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate up to 100 children. Playground 3 \342\200\223 Elementary Playground measured at 8580 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate up to 114 children. All 3 playgrounds have a total capacity of 397. Play structure on Playground 1 - Serengeti has a manufacturer recommendation for ages 2-5 and a \342\200\234rock\342\200\235 climbing structure for ages 4-8. A teacher is designated to supervise around the rock climbing structure during outdoor play to ensure all children 3 and under do not utilize the equipment. All other equipment is age appropriate. Ms Kolle stated the school wishes to continue using all 3 playgrounds. Direct visual supervision is required at all times when children are in care. No deficiencies cited. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative Susan Kolle. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
