Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Regarding the allegation that staff did not properly supervise day care children, based on record review and interviews it was disclosed there is a lead teacher in each classroom and playground, an assistant teacher and a floating teaching giving them a smaller student to teacher ratio than required. Interviews did not produce evidence that children have not been properly supervised. Regarding the allegation that staff did not allow day care children to have access to indoor areas, based on record review and interviews it was disclosed that the facility has an outdoor classroom that is mainly used but that children do have access to the indoor classroom as part of the day. However, there was approximately one month in August where the indoor environment was closed off due to a positive covid case in the building and wanting to have an open-air environment to avoid additional cases. Lastly, regarding the allegation that staff did not ensure that day care child was adequately hydrated, based on observation and interviews it was disclosed that children have access to water throughout the day not only do children bring their own water bottles daily but there is also indoor and outdoor water fountains and additional jugs of water to refill water bottles as needed. Based on the information obtained during this investigation, it has been determined that although the allegations may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the alleged violations did or did not occur. Therefore, the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED . An exit interview was conducted, and this report was reviewed with the Director, Yi-Cheng Hu , and a copy was provided. Appeal rights were discussed and provided during the exit interview. A Notice of Site visit was given, and Director understands that it must remain posted for 30 days.
