What the inspector wrote

On 1/9/26 at 8:45 am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Renita Rodriguez conducted an announced case management inspection initiated by the facility for inspection of rooms PS1, PS2, PS7 and PS9 and an increase in capacity. The capacity increase requested is from 68 to 75. Upon arrival, LPA met with Preschool Operations Supervisor, Christine Kutzner. This preschool program is located on Valley Elementary School in the Poway Unified School District campus. Program operates from 8:00 a.m to 11:45 a.m. Ratios observed 31 children and 5 staff. The inspection completed today is for an increase in capacity request and inspection of rooms PS1, PS2, PS7, and PS9. PS 1 has 1 toilet and 2 sinks (1 sink located in classroom area). PS 2 has 2 toilets and 3 sinks (1 sink located in classroom area). PS 7 has 1 toilet and 2 sinks (1 sink located in the classroom area), PS 9 has 1 toilet and 2 sinks (1 sink located in classroom area). Fire department granted clearance for capacity of 20 in PS 1, 20 for PS 2, 24 for PS 7 and 24 for PS 9. LPA observed sufficient cabinets and storage for the supplies that will be utilized by the children in this program. Breakfast is provided by the Poway Unified School District Food and Nutrition Department. The facility is requesting for all rooms to be cleared and licensed. Facility is requesting to be licensed for 2 years of age to 5 years of age. The children in this program have a separate play area from the Elementary school. Staff have a separate restroom facility from the children in care. An exit interview was conducted with Preschool Operations Supervisor, Christine Kutzner and a Notice of Site Visit was given and shall remain posted for 30 days.
