What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Saraliz Velando and Jennifer Irving conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and Case Management Initiated by Licensee for a Capacity Increase. LPAs were greeted at the front door by Licensee, Linda Ajo. LPAs were granted entry after identifying themselves and disclosing the purpose of the visit. The applicant has applied for a capacity of fourteen (14). Fire clearance was granted on 10/29/25. The LPAs toured the one-level home. There were no children in care. The licensee states that the day care children usually attend in the afternoon. Licensee is using the following areas for daycare: Living room #1, Living room #2, kitchen, bathroom #1, bedroom #3 and Front yard. Off-limits areas include: master bedroom, master bathroom, bedroom #2, rear yard, covered sun room/porch and garage. Licensee has provided adequate space for 14 children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Home is clean, orderly and has adequate ventilation. Children\342\200\231s toys and play equipment are available and observed free of hazards. There are no stairs in the home. There is a working telephone/email address. All cleaning compounds, detergents, medications, and poisons are made inaccessible through latches, locks, and/or placed up on high surfaces. There is a fireplace in Living Room #2 that has been screened and inaccessible to children. The fire extinguisher and smoke and carbon monoxide detector are operational. Licensee states there are no firearms or other weapons in the home and LPAs did not observe any. Licensee states there are no bodies of water on the property and LPAs did not observe any. The licensee states that the rear yard is off-limits. The home is kept clean and orderly with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Pediatric CPR and First Aid card will expire September 2027. Applicant has a Mandated Reporter Training certificate that will expire December 2027. There is a working telephone and email address. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Applicant of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. There are no deficiencies or corrections today. Once the final review is completed the Department will issue a license for fourteen (14). Licensee is exempt from Landlord consent because she is the homeowner. Licensee agrees to comply with all regulations and laws governing Large Family Child Care Homes. Exit interview was conducted and the report was reviewed with Licensee, Linda Ajo.
