What Happened
Complaint investigation substantiated; family child care home exceeded licensed capacity in February 2025, caring for 15 children when maximum is 14 with assistant or 8 without; misunderstanding of capacity requirements and schedule change contributed.
Observations
- February 2025: 15 children in care on Feb 3-7, 10-14, 18-21, 24-28 from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM (maximum 14 with assistant)
- Licensee misunderstood capacity limits with and without helper
- Schedule change: drop-off time changed from 2 PM to 5 PM, causing over-capacity situation
