What the inspector wrote

On 07/28/2025, at 1:00PM, Licensing Program Analyst(LPA), Hanna Lucas, conducted an announced comprehensive visit for the purpose of a pre-licensing inspection. A tour of the home was conducted. The home has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a garage. The following areas will be used for child care: the living room, the dining room, the family room, the downstairs bathroom, and the fenced backyard. Off-limit areas include: the kitchen, the garage, and the entire second floor. These areas will be made inaccessible by a baby gate while day care children are present in the home. Applicant has been informed that all items that indicate "keep out of reach of children" and are toxics, poisons or other hazardous items are to be kept inaccessible. The smoke detector (located in the hallway, above the stairs) and carbon monoxide detector (located in the living room) are operational. There is a sufficient number of age-appropriate toys, books and games for children, that are in good condition. There are no bodies of water or firearms/weapons/ammunition on the premises. The back yard is fully fenced with safe, and age-appropriate toys. Applicant, Jenelle Raimo presented evidence of property control by a mortgage statement. The Applicant understands that she can watch a maximum of 14 children when an assistant is present. The Applicant\342\200\231s assistant is, Michelle Underhill, who was fingerprint cleared and associated to the facility. Michelle provided a current CPR/First Aid certificate, a current Mandated Reporter certificate, and required immunization to the Department. LPA confirmed that all the adults living in the home have been fingerprint cleared, associated with the facility, and have met all the immunization requirements. Applicant has provided evidence of the completion of the required 8-hour Health and Safety training and 8-hour Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate, which is valid through February of 2027 and their Mandated Reporter Training valid through September 2025. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA provided the pre licensing packet handout, including YMCA information resources. LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311D, Forms/Records to Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children\342\200\231s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep , as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicant of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. On 06/17/2025, The California Attorney General - Megan\342\200\231s Law website, was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms. Fire Extinguisher that is 2A10BC or larger. Upon final file review, a new license will be sent for posting. Appeal rights were printed and discussed.
