Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 9/11/25, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Saraliz Velando conducted an announced follow-up Prelicensing inspection. The purpose of this inspection was to observe the pool fence corrections. LPA met with Applicant, Rahima Arman and there was one child of her own present today. The pool gate door and fence that surround the pool measures 5 ft. The pool gate swings out and away from the pool and is self-latching and there is a lock. The pool fence is separate and away from the home and is 2 feet away from any windows to prevent direct access into the pool area and meets Title 22 regulations. The applicant agrees that fencing will remain in place and properly function whenever there are children in care. The pool alarm was tested by LPA and is functioning properly. LPA observed the life ring but could not locate the US Coast Guard Approved label. Rescue body pole was in a readily accessible area by the pool. The following correction is needed: 1. Life ring must be labeled as U.S.Coast Guard Approved. The necessary correction will need to be made to meet new pool safety regulations and licensee will not use the backyard for outdoor play because it is off limits for children. A license for eight (8) will be issued upon final review. An exit interview was conducted with Applicant, Rahima Arman. The appeal rights and a copy of this report were provided.
