Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Jennifer Lott conducted an unannounced Annual Licensing inspection. LPA was greeted at the front of the facility by Assistant Director, Megan Peveich and granted entry after identifying herself and disclosing the purpose of her visit. The facility currently has 30 children in care. Licensee provided a copy of their current roster and is operating within the licensed ratio and capacity. The facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons are inaccessible to children. Assistant Director Peveich advised there are no weapons or ammunition being stored on the premises. There are no bodies of water. The last disaster fire drill was conducted on 05/10/2023. Outdoor play area is fenced and free of hazards. The areas around or under climbing equipment, swings and slides is cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. There is plenty of shade available during outdoor play. All toilets & hand washing facilities are clean and in sanitary condition. Kitchen and food prep areas are clean, free of rubbish/insects. Food is kept separate from cleaning supplies. Menus are posted one (1) week in advance in a prominent place. All containers used for solid waste have tight fitting covers that are secured. Drinking water is readily available indoors and out. There is a separate and complete record maintained for each child enrolled at the center. Children\342\200\231s records contained emergency contact information and immunization records. Sign in/out sheets were reviewed and are in compliance. All individuals subject to a criminal record review have obtained a clearance and/or an exemption. Personnel records contain health screening documentation, immunizations and at least one staff member has current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification at the facility. All staff have completed the mandated Child Abuse Reporting as per AB1207. Criminal Record Clearance Assistant Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days, or if the penalty is a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. MyChildCarePlan.org Assistant Director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Lead Testing Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5 years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1 \342\200\223 CCP). CCC completed testing 12/10/22 and water is within normal limits. Incidental Medical services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP . When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.
