What the inspector wrote

On 9/3/21 at 9:45 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, met with Director, Leslie Scheck, for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. The infant program has not opened yet, due to Covid. LPA toured the room (Room #1). The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Room is a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. There is a refrigerator for infant food storage, a bottle warmer and a counter dishwasher to sterilize. Older infants bring their own food, snacks and lunch. Infant bedding/napping equipment is sufficient and meets regulatory requirements. The outdoor activity space is separate from other programs with age appropriate play equipment. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. All storage containers or trash cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. Infant changing tables have padded, washable vinyl at least one inch thick with sides raised at least 3 inches, per regulation and are within arm’s reach of a sink. There are several staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. Any medications are kept in the emergency backpack in the classroom, inaccessible to children. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. The carbon monoxide detector is operational. LPA reviewed sign in/out procedures, a sample of personnel records for educational qualifications and reviewed records for children's files. SB 792 (staff immunizations) and AB 1207 (Mandated Reporter Training) requirements have been met. Facility is reminded the Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com . Safe Sleep regulations and requirements were discussed. The facility was reminded tha LIC 9227, Individual Sleep Plans, are to be on file for all infants under 12 months and 15 minute sleep checks are to be documented for each infant.. Infant Needs and Services plans are to be on file for all infants up to 24 months. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Covid-19 procedures and precautions were in place during today's visit to include PPE, postings, masked staff indoors and social distancing when possible. Infants will be evaluated upon entry and monitored throughout the day for signs of illness. Licensee is signed up for Quarterly Updates and Provider Information Notices (PINs) for one or more programs on our website: www.ccld.ca.gov . No deficiencies are cited. NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS POSTED DURING THIS VISIT AND WILL REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS
