Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

It is also alleged that staff inappropriately handle children in care. Interviews revealed that staff are caring towards children. There is no evidence to prove that staff are mishandling children in care. It is also alleged that a child was inappropriately touched by another child in care. Interviews did not reveal any inappropriate touching of any kind between children. LPA was unable to obtain any evidence to substantiate this claim. Lastly, it was alleged that a child was injured in care. On or about 07/12/22, C1 was running through the classroom. Interviews revealed that the child was told to not run, but the child chose not to listen to their teacher. C1 tripped and fell in the classroom, sustaining an injury to their lip. Ice was provided to the child and the parent was immediately notified. There was nothing in the facility that caused the child to fall, the child simply tripped on their own. This agency has investigated the complaint alleging child not being provided adequate food service, staff inappropriately handled a child in care, child was inappropriately touched by another child in care and child was injured while in care. The Department has found that although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED. An exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with the VP of Operations, Jennifer Grawvunder. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
