What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Saraliz Velando conducted a Case Management inspection that was initiated by Interim Director, Rachel Mikut to verify the new playground equipment is safe for children in care. LPA toured the facility with the Interim Director. There were 45 children in care and 9 staff present today. The Interim Director notified the Department of new playground equipment that was placed in a previously approved outdoor play area. Per tour of the facility today, the playground outdoor activity space does maintain a shaded rest area for the children. The surface of the preschool playground is maintained, in safe condition, and free of hazards. Filtered water from a service is readily available to refill the children’s water bottles. The preschool playground is enclosed by a fence that is at least four feet high. All play equipment is age appropriate for children 2 – 5 years old. The new preschool playground equipment addition is in compliance with standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, for Child Care Centers. The new playground equipment was inspected by B SAFE Playground Inspection on 9/16/25 and was provided with certificates of compliance with ASTM F1487-25 Standard Consumer Safety Performance. The playground equipment was inspected by LPA Velando and approved effective today, May 28, 2026. No deficiencies cited today. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Interim Director, Rachel Mikut. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
