What the inspector wrote

On 07/28/2021 at 2:30pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Selina Siao, conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection. LPA met with Applicant Anthony Bacoy and Applicant representative Denise Bacoy. This is a change of ownership application, with no changes being made to the physical plant. The children have left for the day during the summer. The designated Director is Denise Bacoy who meets the qualification requirements. Fire clearance was granted on 7/01/2021. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected and measured today. Indoor: Room 1 measures 509.10 square feet, Room 2 measures 429.96, Room 3 measures 1633.91. Building 2: Room 3 measures 307.22. Total indoor activity space is 2880.19 square feet, which will accommodate a total of 82 children. Outdoor: Previously measures 11616.25 square feet, which will accommodate no more than 154 children at one time. All rooms were equipped with age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, nap mats etc. There is a total of 5 toilets and 5 sinks. Children are to be escorted and supervised by staff to and from the bathroom and direct visual observation is required. There is a separate bathroom for staff located in building 2, equipped with 1 toilet and 1 sink and is also designated for use by children who are ill. There is a carbon monoxide detector, smoke alarm and first aid kit available. The food prep area is in the kitchen in building 2 and it's use to prepare for AM and PM snacks. Children brings their own lunch from home. All required documents are posted in the office and facility representative is planning to put it outside near the playground entrance. The outdoor play area was inspected. LPA observed 2 separate playgrounds, one for older preschool children and the smaller playground is for 2 to 3 years old. Both areas are completely fenced, have trees and tarp for shade, drinking water will be available outside when children are playing, age appropriate play equipment, and sufficient cushioning (wood chips) under the climbing structures. This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual \342\200\223 Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed California Megan's Law and LPA provided: www.meganslaw.ca.gov . Applicant was reminded that all staff must have a criminal record clearance and be associated to the facility prior to having a presence in the Center. Child Care Providers can now sign up for Quarterly Updates and PINS through the DSS website. Please go to www.ccld.ca.gov and click on \342\200\234Receive Important Updates,\342\200\235 then enter your email address and choose which program(s) you would like to subscribe to and click \342\200\234subscribe.\342\200\235 Prior to licensure, the following is needed: Submit an update employee handbook Exit interview was conducted. Once all documents are received and a final file review is conducted, a license for 48 children will be granted. The applicant was provided a copy of their appeal rights (LIC 9058 12/15) and their signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. This report shall be kept available at the facility for public review for 3 years.
