What the inspector wrote

On August 17, 2023 at 9:40 a.m. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Leilani Curtis conducted an announced follow-up prelicensing inspection. The purpose of this inspection is to ensure that all corrections discussed in LPA Curtis\342\200\231s prelicensing report dated 07/26/23 have been met. Upon arrival, LPA met with Applicant/Administrator, Kelly Baas and proceeded to tour the facility. The applicant states that the fall 2023 school year has begun and the elementary school is in session. LPA observed several elementary school children present in the elementary school building and at the lunch tables. The preschool facility is located on the grounds of Spencer Valley Elementary School. The preschool building and elementary school building are situated next to each other, separated by the lunch area and basketball court. On 7/26/23 the applicant was advised that the following corrections were needed: The pond on the property is to be fenced or covered per regulation. A director\342\200\231s packet for Gabriella Farr is to be submitted. The Parent Handbook is to be updated to reflect Gabriella Farr as Director/Site Supervisor. An updated job description for Director/Site Supervisor position is to be submitted. During today\342\200\231s inspection LPA observed that the pond on the property has been fenced and gated per regulation. The fence is in good repair and completely surrounds the pond. The applicant states that the pond fencing will remain in place and properly functioning whenever there are licensed children in care. LPA obtained an updated Parent Handbook, job description for Director/Site Supervisor position, and director packet for Gabriella Farr. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Applicant/Administrator Kelly Baas. A notice of site visit was given to Ms. Baas and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. A license for 30 preschool children, ages 3-4 years old in preschool room #1 and preschool room #2 may be granted upon final file review. Ms. Baas understands that this report shall be kept available at the facility for public review for 3 years.
