What the inspector wrote

On 03/18/2025 at 10:30 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Griselda Castellon and LPA Diana Brasel, LPM Monica Cuddy conducted an unannounced case management licensee initiated visit. Upon arrival, LPA met with the Site Director Erica Gonzalez who is requesting to be licensed for 22 infants 0-24 months old in classrooms 7 and 8, 24 toddler 18-36 months in classroom 6, 99 preschool children in classrooms 1,2,3 and 5, and 26 school-age children who will be sharing classroom 4. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. During our visit the site Director Erica will submit an updated 200 A requesting 21 Infants, 77 Preschool Children, 24 Toddler Option, and 26 school-age Children. For a total capacity of 127 children. Present during today\342\200\231s inspection were 68 children with 12 staff. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Erica Gonzalez that staff are required to always maintain direct vision supervision of the children during indoor and outdoor activities. Total indoor activity space measured is 3,539.84 sq ft, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via water dispenser and disposable cups. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 03/05/2025. LPA observed a total of 23 sinks and 11 toilets available for preschool children\342\200\231s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of children. The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area for the preschool component. Wrought iron with bamboo fencing surrounding the property is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space for all preschool is 10,209.15 sq ft, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested preschool capacity. Per the site director the facility currently has a waiver on file for the school-age and preschool children to share the outdoor listed preschool playground using a time schedule. The preschool facility sketch only lists preschool playground area. LPA's will need to verify discussed waiver. Shade is provided via trees, umbrellas and building overhang on each playground. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playgrounds. There are climbing structures on the upper and lower levels of the playgrounds which are age appropriate for the groups that will use them. Preschool playground manufacture recommendation is for 2 years to 12 years old on the lower level and 2 years to 5 years on the upper level. Erica was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. 1. An updated outdoor sketch will be needed to show the outdoor playground for preschool and school age. 2. LPA's will verify if an outdoor playground waiver was granted for the preschool and school-age to share the playground. If a current waiver is not on file, the facility will need to request the waiver and it will need to be approved. 3. Add 1 hand washing sink for changing table in room 6 to be used for children ages 18-24 months. The requested decrease from 107 preschool children to 101 children ages 2-5 years old in classrooms 1,2,3 and 5. Toddler option increase from 15 children to 24 children 18-36 months in classroom 6, will be granted upon a final file review. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Failure to comply with the posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.00. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Director Erica Gonzalez.
