What the inspector wrote

On 12/15/2025 at 10:00,am Licensing Program Analysts (LPA), Griselda Castellon and Diana Brasel conducted an announced pre-licensing corrections visit to inspect and approve corrections listed in the initial visit. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director Kara Mings , toured the facility, the indoor and outdoor playground area. LPAs inspected the indoor classrooms and play areas. The corrections listed in the initial facility report were to add safety locks to all lower cabinets in the kitchen to make the kitchen area inaccessible and to add a safety strap to make it inaccessible in both the East and West classrooms. LPAs observed that all corrections were completed. LPAs inspected the outdoor play areas. The corrections listed in the initial facility report were to ensure the courtyard fencing is at least 4 ft tall, make the dragon fruit plant with sharp splinters that is along the chain-link fence inaccessible, make all plants that have sharp thorns inaccessible, remove or repair all wood pallets throughout the playground, remove the wood pallet that is leaning up against the chain-link fence, remove or repair boat, remove or repair art cabinet. LPAs observed that all corrections were completed. The only correction that is pending is making all plants that have sharps thorns inaccessible like the citrus trees and large rose bush. LPAs observed the dry river bed filled with river rocks. Ms. Mings installed a drain at the bottom of the river bed for proper drainage. Ms. Mings filled the river bed with water and LPAs observed the water drain properly. The water did not exceed 4 inches while water was running. During the visit, LPAs observed that the side of the West classroom has open access for children. The side the building leads to the front driveway, parking lot and main road of the child care center. Ms. Mings will install a 4 ft fence to prevent children from accessing the side of the West classroom and the driveway. Ms. Mings will provide photos of the fence. There is an existing 5 foot chain-link fence surrounding the far exterior of the property with an opening to the driveway/parking lot. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Kara Mings.
