What the inspector wrote

On 6/3/25, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Saraliz Velando conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry by the Center Director, April Andreola. LPA toured the facility and observed 74 preschool children and 16 staff. A review of staff records today indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. The licensee has not exceeded the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license. The last fire drill was conducted on 6/2/25. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary, and good operating condition. All storage containers or trash cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. There is at least one staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. Any medications are kept in lock boxes in the classrooms. There is a First Aid kit and emergency bag, inaccessible to children in every classroom. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. The carbon monoxide detector and smoke alarm combos are operational. The facility uses an electronic device for parents to sign in/out with full signatures. Children are provided breakfast, lunch, and snack by the facilty. The facility has emergency snacks on hand, stored appropriately and meeting nutritional requirements. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in safe condition and free of hazards. The areas around or under high climbing equipment, slides, and similar equipment was cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. Children were observed to be under the supervision of qualified staff. Facility was observed to be within ratio. An isolation area has been designated for children who become ill during the day which is in the director\342\200\231s office. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP .
