What the inspector wrote

On 11/16/22 at 9:15am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Saraliz Velando and Leilani Curtis, made an unannounced CASE MANAGEMENT inspection, for reported Lead Exceedance. LPAs met with Licensee, Polly Trump and toured the facility. Also present in the facility were 48 daycare children and 7 teachers/staff. Facility was within ratio & capacity. Staff members have the required Criminal record clearance and are associated to the facility. LPAs interviewed staff and examined the faucets and drinking fountains deemed an Action Level Exceedance. Drinking fountain reported with 5.5 ppb or greater lead exceedance levels was as follows: \342\200\234C\342\200\235 Drinking Fountain located in the Central Hallway-Children\342\200\231s Restroom 17.00 ppb Licensee reported that drinking fountain "C" was removed because it was being used by children for drinking. The drinking fountain was removed and capped off on 9/19/22. The school provides pitchers of filtered water in the classrooms. There is also a drinking fountain located on the playground that passed testing that children are free to use. There is a faucet in the kitchen used for food prep that passed testing. A letter was sent out to parents regarding the testing and remediation on 9/23/2022. LPAs observed that the water testing results are posted in the facility. See LIC809-D for cited deficiency. LPA Saraliz Velando informed licensee, Polly Trump that this report dated 11/16/22 documents one Type A citation which shall be posted for 30 consecutive days as there is immediate risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care. Also, LPA Velando informed the licensee to provide a copy of this licensing report dated 11/16/22 that documents any Type A citations to parents/guardians of all children currently enrolled by the next business day or the next day the children are in care, and to any newly enrolled parents/guardians for 12 months from the date of this report. A signed Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Report (LIC 9224), or other written statement, must be placed in the child's file for verification. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Polly Trump. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
