What the inspector wrote

On July 10, 2025, at 9:15 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Angela Nguyen conducted an unannounced Annual/ Random inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Carey Dunaway and disclosed the purpose of inspection. LPA was led on a tour of the inside and outside the facility by the Licensee. The facility operates a full day year around program. There were (4) children being supervised by (1) teacher in Classroom #1. Facility operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. The floors in the facility were observed to clean and safe. All toilets and hand washing facilities were observed to be in safe and sanitary operating condition. Solid waste storage containers were observed to have tight-fitting covers and in good repair. The children bring their own lunch and the facility provides Am/Pm snack. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Children bring their own water bottles. The facility provides filtered drinking water for the children. LPA observed areas around high climbing equipment did have sufficient cushioning material (wood chips) surrounding the play structure and slide. Shade was observed in the outdoor activity space by the use of canopies. The facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detector and a first aid kit that meet statutory requirements. The last fire drill was conducted and documented on 6/17/2025. Earthquake drill was conducted on 6/4/2025. Director stated that there are no swimming pools or other bodies of water on the premises. LPA did not observe any bodies of water. Director stated there are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Capacity and limitations as specified on the license are being maintained. Children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. Facility maintains a ratio of one teacher supervising no more than twelve (12) children in care. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. At least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid is present when children are at the facility. The name of the Licensee and the fully qualified teacher designated to act in the Licensee\342\200\231s absence has been reported to the Department. LPA reviewed facility physical sign in /sign out sheets procedures. Licensee was reminded that the person who signs the child in and out of the facility shall use their full legal signature and record the time of day. LPA reviewed a sample of children\342\200\231s files and observed files were complete with contact information for authorized representative and or relatives or others who can assume responsibility for the child and medical assessment. LPA reviewed a sample of staff files and observed files were complete with health screening, immunization records for influenza, pertussis and measles and current documentation of completed mandated reporter training. LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies were cited. A Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) was given to Licensee, Carey Dunaway and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. LPA observed LIC 9213 was posted. Appeal Rights (LIC 9058) was provided. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. An exit interview was conducted and the report was reviewed with Licensee, Carey Dunaway.
