Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

It was alleged that staff members speak inappropriately to children in care and yell directly in their face. Based upon information obtained during interviews with staff members, enrolled children and parents of enrolled children it is determined that although 5 out of 6 children stated that staff members “yell” at them, it was not clear as to whether the staff members were raising their voice to get the children’s attention or if it was yelling in a punitive way to cause humiliation or distress to the child. No staff members or parents interviewed stated that they had witnessed any yelling or inappropriate speaking to the children in care. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred. Therefore, the allegation is found to be UNSUBSTANTIATED. (See LIC9099 TV for technical assistance) Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with facility representative Director Meghan Alldredge. Notice of Site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days.
