Lead safety check·January 11, 2023

On January 11, 2022 at 11:30 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Cindy Hamilton and Nasha King, conducted a follow-up case management visit to the case management visit conducted on October 25, 2022 which was in response to information received from the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), Division of Drinking Water (DDW). LPAs met with Sonya Downs- Director who was informed the reason for the visit. During the visit, LPAs toured the facility and observed on the report provided by the SWRCB, Faucet H was identified as having high levels of lead. The faucet is located in Room #2. Director stated that the faucet was only used for teacher hand washing and cleaning of supplies and not for drinking water or food preparation. Director stated the faucet was immediately turned off, properly labeled as out of service and still not in use. The faucet has been replaced with non-lead faucet and retested on January 5, 2023 . Director advised she does not have the results from the January 5th testing yet. See LIC 809 D for cited deficiency in accordance with the California Code of Regulations Title 22, Division 12 written directives. An exit interview was conducted with Sonya Downs- Director. A copy of this report, appeal rights and a Notice of Site Visit was issued.
