What the inspector wrote

On 11/3/25, LPA (Licensing Program Analyst) Saraliz Velando, conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry by the Center Director, Ann Leong. LPA toured the facility and observed 12 preschool children and 3 staff. Room 1 and Room 2 are designated for 3\342\200\2235-year-olds. The Discovery Room is designated as a multi-purpose room. A review of staff records today indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. The licensee has not exceeded the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary, and good operating condition. All storage containers or trash cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. There is at least one member of staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. Any medications are kept in a lock cabinet in the \342\200\234staff only\342\200\235 area and with emergency bags that are inaccessible to children. The First Aid kit is kept at the Director\342\200\231s office, in the Discovery room, and outdoor cart for use in the playground area. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. The carbon monoxide detector is operational and located in the Discovery Room by the Director\342\200\231s Office. There is a fire extinguisher 2A10BC that meets regulations located by the Front Entrance. The facility uses manual sign in/out for students. Snacks are provided by the facility and lunch is brought from home provided by the parents but is optional.. Filtered water from a service is provided for water bottle refills. Facility has emergency snacks on hand, stored appropriately and meeting nutritional requirements. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in safe condition and free of hazards. The areas around or under high climbing equipment, slides, and similar equipment were cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. Children were observed to be under the supervision of fully qualified staff. Facility was observed to be within ratio. An isolation area has been designated for children who become ill during the day at the Director\342\200\231s Office. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP.
