On 08/08/22 at 9:38 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Rajani Goudreau conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with the Licensee, Gloria Delgado. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Four children (one infant, two preschoolers and one school aged) and one staff were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, three-bedroom, two-bathroom house. The following areas are used for childcare: living room, kitchen, dining room/family room, patio (located in backyard), playroom (located in back patio) and restrooms located in hallway of home & patio area, front yard, backyard. The following off-limit areas are made securely inaccessible: garage and three bedrooms. Operation hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements, per LPA observation. LPA observed hazardous items inaccessible to children in care. LPA informed licensee poisons shall be placed in a storage area and locked. LPA observed toys, play equipment and materials available for the children\342\200\231s use. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. LPA informed licensee children shall be supervised during outdoor activities. LPA did not observe any bodies of water on the premises during the inspection. In addition, licensee confirmed there are no bodies of water on the premises of the property. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee\342\200\231s First Aid and CPR certifications are valid and expire in June 2025. Licensee has required immunization's on file, per file review. Licensee has completed the Mandated Reporter Training in February 2022. LPA informed the licensee the Mandated Reporter training shall be completed once every two years. The facility roster and children's files are maintained and were reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on May 13, 2022. There is a play yard for each infant who is unable to climb out of the play yard. Play yards are free from all loose articles and objects. The provider physically checks on sleeping infants every 15 minutes. An Individual Infant Sleeping Plan [LIC 9227 (3/20)] shall be maintained for each infant up to 12 months of age. The provider places infants up to 12 months of age on their backs for sleeping. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. LPA discussed California Megan's Law and LPA provided: www.meganslaw.ca.gov .
