Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Saraliz Velando conducted an unannounced Annual Licensing Inspection. LPA was greeted by licensee, Linda Lima. LPA was granted entry after identifying herself and disclosing the purpose of the visit. There were 2 infants in care. Licensee is using the following areas for daycare: living room, dining room, family room, kitchen, bedroom #1 (master bedroom), hall bathroom and enclosed rear yard. Off-limits areas include: bedroom #2, bedroom #3, master bathroom and garage. There are no weapons stored in the home or on the property and there are no bodies of water present. There is a fireplace that has been barricaded and made inaccessible to children. The fire extinguisher meets regulations and is located in the kitchen. The smoke alarm is functional and located in the hallway and the carbon monoxide detector is functional and located in the kitchen area. The home is clean, orderly and has adequate ventilation and heating. Storage for poisons, detergents, cleaning solutions, medications are inaccessible by safety latches or out of reach. Licensee\342\200\231s last fire drill was conducted on 2/19/24. Pediatric CPR and First Aid card for provider expired in January and she has a renewal class scheduled for 3/16/24. Licensee\342\200\231s Mandated Reporter Training certificate expires February 2026. There is a working telephone and email address. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey will be sent to the email address provided. Please complete the survey and share Licensee or facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day / per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee or facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee for facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual \342\200\223 Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. There were no deficiencies cited today. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with licensee, Linda Lima. Copy of report and Appeal Rights was given. A notice of site visit was posted and must remain for 30 days.
