What Happened
The home inspection found the basic safety systems in place, including a compliant fire extinguisher and operable smoke/carbon monoxide detector, but the licensee did not have a current roster and had not documented recent fire or disaster drills. The backyard and upstairs were kept off limits, and the home otherwise had adequate equipment and inaccessible hazards.
Observations
- The fire extinguisher and combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector met requirements.
- The fireplace in the family room was inoperable and made inaccessible with a board and furniture barricade.
- The backyard was off limits and secured with a latching sliding patio door and safety alarm.
- The licensee did not have a current facility roster.
- The last fire and disaster drills had not been documented within the past six months.
