Routine inspection (3-year)·May 6, 2026

On 5/6/2026 at 9:05 am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Sharon Mendez conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA identified self, disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility. Present in the home was the Licensee Teri Coronado and her daughter/helper Kristina Coronado along with 6 daycare children. Licensee states she has a total of 9 children enrolled. LPA obtained a copy of current roster. The 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom , 1 story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for childcare include the livingroom and the hallway bathroom. Off limits areas include the rest of the house, all 3 bedroooms, bathroom 2, the garage and front and backyard and are inaccessible through use of child safety doorknob locks, covers and child safety barriers. Fireplace in living room is screened. The licensee has sufficient toys and equipment available. The licensee states she currently only sometimes takes walks with the children for outdoor activities. A designated isolation area is available should a child become ill during the day. The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector were tested met requirements and are operational during this visit. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There are no bodies of water in the home Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 2025. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 2023 and is now expired. Children’s and Staff records were reviewed and found to be incomplete. Continued on page 2... Provider is hereby reminded of the following; Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, post all required forms, corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers are not allowed in day care. All equipment that is used should be used only as intended by the manufacturer. The licensee provided proof of control of property Because the licensee rents/leases the home, proof of landlord notification is required. The LPA observed the Property Owner/Landlord Notification form (LIC 9151) that the licensee confirms was provided to the property owner/landlord. The licensee obtained a signed Property Owner/Landlord Consent form (LIC 9149). LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. See LIC809D for deficiencies cited. LPA provided Licensee with TSP brochure, and advised a TSP referral will be submitted on Licensee’s behalf as a resource. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Tori Coronado. During the exit interview, the Licensee Tori Coronado , confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
