What the inspector wrote

On January 30, 2026 at 10:03 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Angela Nguyen conducted an unannounced Annual/ Random Inspection and met with the Licensee, Amberlee Murray. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. The Licensee, her minor daughter and two day care children were present during the inspection. One of those children is an infant. At 10:27 a.m., one more day care child arrived. This facility is a single story, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care: living room, hallway bathroom, dining room, kitchen, bedroom #2 and back deck. Off limits areas: Bedroom #1 with included bathroom, laundry room and back yard beyond the fenced deck. They are made inaccessible through use of door knob covers, child proof locks and safety gates. Hours of operation: Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector are operational. Hazardous items were observed in a locked cabinet during this inspection. LPA observed children\342\200\231s toys and play equipment available for children. Licensee uses fenced deck for outdoor play. Licensee stated there are no bodies of water. LPA observed no bodies of water on the premises during the inspection. LPA verified that the firearms were properly stored and secured. Licensee\342\200\231s First Aid and CPR certifications expires in 10/12/2026. Licensee has required immunizations. Mandated Reporter Training expires in 03/15/2026. LPA reminded licensee that Mandated reporter and Pediatric CPR/ First aid expires every 2 years and shall be kept on file at the facility. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire drill was conducted and documented on 7/20/2025. Child record review was conducted and determined to be complete. LPA obtained a copy of current children facility roster indicating three enrolled children. LPA discussed the facility emergency disaster plan, LIC 311D and safety of children. LPA reminded Licensee of the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children\342\200\231s records according to regulation, post all required forms. Licensee was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers and/or similar equipment are not allowed in daycare. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed license of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. One technical violation was issued during the inspection. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee Amberlee Murray, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
