What the inspector wrote

On June 22, 2023 at 11:02 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Edgar Campana conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Mounia Chemsi.\302\240 LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee.\302\240There were twelve (12) children and one assistant present during inspection. Assistant is cleared and associated to facility. This facility is a two story, five (5) bedroom, three (3) bathroom house. The following areas used for child care are: Living room, family room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom located next to the kitchen (main daycare room), hallway bathroom and backyard. Off limits areas include: Entire second floor and garage. Garage is made inaccessible through use of a safety gate and second floor staircase is properly barricaded. The fire extinguisher (rated 3A-40 BC) smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detectors met requirements.\302\240 All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. Licensee\342\200\231s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 11/2023.\302\240 Licensee has required immunizations.\302\240 Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training certificate expires on 05/05/2024.\302\240Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed.\302\240The last fire and disaster drills were conducted in April 07, 2023. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. No deficiencies cited. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Mounia Chemsi. During the exit interview, the licensee Mounia Chemsi, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided.
