On 12/16/2025, at 12:35 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Cindy Meier conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with Licensee, Miriam Magana. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was led on a tour of the facility indoors and outdoors. This facility is a one-story, three-bedroom, two-bathroom house. The following areas are used for childcare: daycare room, kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom #2, hall bathroom and back yard. Off limits areas include: bedroom #1, master bedroom, bathroom #2 and garage which are made inaccessible through the use of doorknob covers. Hours of operation hours are Monday \342\200\223 Friday, 5:45 a.m. \342\200\223 4:30 p.m. Present during the inspection were licensee, spouse (assistant S1), and five (5) children. The fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were inaccessible to children in care. LPA informed licensee poisons shall be placed in a storage area and locked. LPA did not observe any poisons during the inspection. LPA observed toys and materials available for children\342\200\231s use. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. LPA informed licensee to ensure children are supervised at all times during outdoor activities. The fireplace is located in the family room and is inaccessible to children. The licensee provided proof of control of property. Because the licensee rents/leases the home, proof of landlord notification is required. The LPA observed the Property Owner/Landlord Notification form (LIC 9151) that the applicant confirms was provided to the property owner/landlord. The applicant obtained a signed Property Owner/Landlord Consent form (LIC 9149). Licensee is approved to care for a maximum of fourteen (14) children. Licensee stated there are no bodies of water and LPA did not observe any bodies of water during the inspection. There is a fountain located in an off-limits area of the backyard, inaccessible to children, which is filled with rocks. Licensee stated the fountain is never operational during day care hours. Licensee stated there are no firearms, other weapons, or ammunition in the home. Licensee stated she does transport children. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. LPA reviewed children\342\200\231s files. Children\342\200\231s files reviewed were complete and met regulations. LPA observed LIC9227 in children\342\200\231s files for 0-12 months of age and a documented Safe Sleep log was observed for children 0-24 months of age. LPA reviewed assistant\342\200\231s files. Assistant\342\200\231s files reviewed were complete and met regulations. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee\342\200\231s Mandated Reporter AB1207 training expires on 9/2026. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications expire on 8/2026. Licensee has required immunizations, per file review. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The licensee conducted and documented a fire and disaster drill on 9/11/2025. Required documents are posted. There is one crib or play yard for each infant who is unable to climb out of the crib or play yard. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the licensee, Miriam Magana, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. LPA reviewed with licensee the LIC 311D, Forms/Records to Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children\342\200\231s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted. Entrance Checklist was provided to the applicant. LPA and licensee discussed California Megan's Law and LPA provided: www.meganslaw.ca.gov .
