What the inspector wrote

On 12/16/2022 at 1:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dana Stevens, conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection with applicant, Leticia Gonzalez . Applicant's son provided translation assistance in Spanish, Purpose of the inspection is Change of Location. This single story, Four bedroom, two bath home was toured and inspected. Applicant will use the following areas for child care: daycare room 1 and daycare room 2, and daycare bathroom. Off limits areas include: Garage, office, laundry room, kitchen, dining area, living room, 4 bedrooms and one bathroom. The garage is made inaccessible to day care children through the use of door knob covers. The laundry room and the remainder of the house are currently accessible to daycare children from daycare room 1. Applicant will utilize the backyard for outdoor activities, it is partially fenced. Applicant understands that total supervision is required during outdoor play. The fireplace is screened, There are no bodies of water observed during time of visit. The fire extinguisher is rated 3A 40B:C and is located in daycare room 1. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements, are operational and are located in both daycare rooms. All poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, and medicines are inaccessible to children in care and are located in off limit areas. Children\342\200\231s toys and play equipment are available. The applicant has a working telephone/cell phone.\302\240 Applicant indicated there are no firearms or other weapons in the home.\302\240 Fire Clearance for 14 children was granted 11/2022. Applicant maintains documentation of proof of control of property for review by the Department.\302\240 Applicant completed Mandated Reporter AB1207 training and Preventative Heath Practices. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications expire 11/2024. Required documents were not yet posted.\302\240 Applicant and adult residents in the home have criminal record clearances and/or exemptions on file.\302\240 Applicant was advised that any new/additional adults must be cleared prior to working or residing in home. Any minor upon their 18th birthday must be fingerprinted within 30 days. Immunization records per SB792 were reviewed and are in compliance.\302\240 LPA advised that prior to making alterations or additions to the home or grounds, the applicant shall notify the Department of the proposed change. Applicant states they are financially secure to operate a family child care home for children and will comply with all regulations and laws governing family child care homes. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Applicant does not plan on providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS) to clients at this time.\302\240 IMS policy was discussed. Southern California Child Care Advocate information was provided and applicant was encouraged to subscribe through the CCLD website in order to be placed on an email list for updated regulation information. The following corrections are needed prior to the issuance of the license: Laundry room and remainder of house must be made inaccessible from daycare room 1. A Large Family Child Care Home license maybe issued upon final file review, An exit interview was conducted and a copy of the report was provided to the applicant.
