What the inspector wrote

On 2/11/2025 at 12:00pm, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Vicky Williamson and Raina Alexanian conducted an unannounced case manage inspection. LPAs met with Licensee Myrline Joseph. The purpose of this inspection is to inspect the backyard due to the completion of the reconstruction of the backyard initiated by licensee on 1/14/2025. Licensee contacted the Department and requested an inspection of the backyard to ensure the home is in compliance with standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. Also present is licensee\342\200\231s spouse Denis Joseph and minor child. There were six daycare children present, two of whom were infants. LPAs accompanied by Licensee, Myrline Joseph toured the indoor and outdoor of the home. LPAs observed that the backyard is fenced and covered with artificial turf. Children\342\200\231s play equipment and toys are available. The backyard can be accessed by children through the sliding door leading from the upstairs daycare area. Licensee was reminded that there must always be direct supervision of the children while outdoors. Licensee stated that she understood. LPA Williamson advised the Licensee that prior to making alterations or additions to the home or grounds, the Licensee shall notify the Department of the proposed change. LPA Williamson advised Licensee that she can use the backyard effective today 2/11/2025. An exit interview was conducted with Licensee, Myrline Joseph. Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
