What the inspector wrote

On 3/21/24 at 12:05 p.m.\302\240 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Adrian Castellon conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Applicant Alexandra Carrillo and proceeded to tour the facility to ensure the facility is in compliance with standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3. Facility plans to operate Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pm. All cleaning compounds, detergents, medications and other items which could pose a danger to children are stored where they are inaccessible to children and poisons are to be locked away. The fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector and smoke detector meet requirements and are operational.\302\240 LPAs discussed required postings posted. Children\342\200\231s toys and play equipment are safe and age appropriate. There are no bodies of water present. LPA informed applicant to ensure children are supervised at all times during outdoor activities. There are no firearms in the home, per licensee. Primary telephone is a cell phone which is operational.\302\240 Pediatric CPR and First-Aid certificate are valid through December 2025. A review of clearances on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Applicant has met the immunization requirement, per SB792 and has completed the AB1207 Mandated Reporter Training. Licensee will use the following areas for childcare: entire home except for bedrooms #1, 2, and 3 and master bathroom. Hallway bathroom will be used for daycare purposes. Fully fenced back yard will be used. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, a plan for provided IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the following with applicant: to sign up for Quarterly Updates and PINs through the departments website. Please go to www.cdss.ca.gov and on the right side of your screen click on \342\200\234 Receive Important Updates \342\200\235, put your email address in and choose which program(s) you would like to subscribe to and click \342\200\234subscribe. In addition, for questions contact Child Care Licensing duty line at 619-767-2248 . LPA discussed the following with applicant: lead poisoning effects brochure and information on SIDS and shaken baby syndrome, child abuse reporting, community resources, children\342\200\231s records/facility records/required postings, immunization's, unusual incident report, roster, visual for ratio/capacity, prohibited items handout (walkers, exersaucers, jumpers and bouncy seats), emergency drill log example. LPA discussed California Megan's Law and provided the following to applicant with the following website: www.meganslaw.ca.gov . LPA discussed the following with applicant: maximum capacity for a small family child care home: 4 infants only (infants mean any children under 24 months); or 6 children with no more than 3 infants; or (with landlord consent) 8 children with no more than 2 infants, 1 child in kindergarten or elementary school and 1 child at least age 6 including children under age 10 who live in the applicant's home. An exit interview was conducted with the applicant. The following was discussed and provided to the applicant: LIC809, LIC809-C report. A small family child care license may be issued after a final file review.
