Pre-licensing visit·December 11, 2024

On 12/11/24 at 1:30 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Oscar Picazo conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection with applicant Linda Joseph. LPA discussed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry to the facility by the applicant. The purpose of the inspection is to verify and inspect the items and areas that were identified in the initial pre-licensing as needing correcting, were corrected. The applicant led LPA to the item and area in question. LPA observed one in-ground swimming pool located on the north side yard of the premises. The fencing consists of 7 sets of 5 sturdy mesh material panels that measure 5 feet (60") in height X 2.5 feet (30") width; with a vertical clearance of less than 1/2 an inch from the cement ground to the bottom of the enclosure, and no more than 1.5 inch gaps between each set of connecting panels and does not obscure the pool from view. There is 1 access door that has a key lockable, self-latching child proof safety device no lower than 60" above the ground, freely swings away from the pool without catching, self-latches from any distance it opens and meets regulation. The following items and areas were inspected and verified to have been corrected: Applicant fully fenced and enclosed the pool with a fixed five foot (60'') sturdy mesh material fence that does not obscure the pool from view with gaps between the interlocking poles no more than 4 inches apart and meets the regulation. Applicant installed a pool access door that swings away from the pool, as well as being self closing and self latching and meets the regulation. LPA discussed the maximum capacity for a small family child care home: four infants only (infants mean any children under 24 months); or six children with no more than three infants; or , with landlord consent, eight children with no more than two infants, one child in kindergarten or elementary school and one child at least age six, including children under age 10 who live in the home. A small family childcare home license may be issued upon final file review. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with and copy provided to the applicant, Linda Joseph.
