Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 12/30/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Saraliz Velando conducted a case management visit that was initiated by the Licensee. No children were observed on site as the school is closed for Winter Break. LPA met with Jennifer Rodriguez, Area Manager. This facility is currently licensed for 140 children (TK thru 12 years old) in the following rooms: Room #10, Library, and Multipurpose Room. The Licensee applied to add Rooms #25 and #26. These two rooms were previously authorized for use on 8/31/2020 and fire clearance was granted on 8/26/2020. Rooms #25 and #26 were inspected for use by school-age children. There are sinks with drinking fountains in each classroom. Drinking water is readily accessible via water jugs. Age-appropriate supplies and equipment were observed available in the indoor activity space that is currently licensed which will be moved to the newly licensed rooms prior to having any children in the new rooms. There is a shared bathroom between Rooms #25 and #26 which includes a toilet and sink and affords privacy. There is a separate staff restroom. The classrooms were not measured as they are exempt from square footage requirements when used for school age children. Food preparation for snacks will be done in Room #10. Isolation for ill children is in each room. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector located in Room #26. Cleaning supplies and other toxins are inaccessible to children through latches, locks and/or placed on high surfaces. Licensee is reminded to keep anything that reads, \342\200\234Keep Out of Reach of Children\342\200\235 inaccessible to children. A license for 140 children (TK thru Grade 5) in rooms #10, #25, #26, Library, and the Multipurpose Room is granted and effective 12/30/24. No deficiencies cited today. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Area Manager, Jennifer Rodriguez. Notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
