What the inspector wrote

On 8/22/25, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Saraliz Velando conducted an unannounced Annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Area Manager, April Smith. Present during today\342\200\231s inspection were 20 children and 4 staff present. All staff members have the required background clearances and are associated with the facility. Furniture and age-appropriate equipment is in good condition. Rooms have adequate heating, lighting, ventilation. Floors appear to be clean and safe. Safe Drinking water is readily accessible. Bathrooms are maintained with operational toilets and faucets. Paper towels and toilet paper are available. Bathrooms are lighted and have ventilation. Facility serves only snacks in the outdoor snack area. Food service area consists of a refrigerator, which is clean and free of hazards and located in Room #26. Facility representative was advised to ensure that all snacks are stored in sealed and dated containers. Snack menu is posted. Cleaning supplies are kept separate from food and are inaccessible to children. Facility representative was reminded to ensure that all storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers. Storage areas for poisons are locked. The facility representative stated there are no firearms or other weapons on the premises. All foods/beverages are stored in covered containers or individually wrapped. The facility appears to be free of insects and rodents. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector at the facility. Facility has 2A10BC fire extinguisher that meets regulations. Outdoor play areas are a fenced blacktop area with swings and grassy area for school age children. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in safe condition and free of hazards. Facility provides basketballs, handballs, jump ropes, and other equipment. There are no bodies of water at this facility. There is adequate shade provided outside by trees throughout. Equipment is age appropriate. Area has drinking water readily accessible, with children using refillable water bottles or facility provided disposable cups. The last fire/disaster drill was conducted on 6/3/25. There were no deficiencies cited today. A notice of site visit was posted and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Area Manager, April Smith. A copy of this report along with appeal rights were also provided.
