What the inspector wrote

On 3/4/26 at 7:50 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Annette Sutherland conducted an unannounced required 3-year inspection at the facility.\302\240Upon arrival, LPA met with facility representative Director Jared Windt. This school-age program is located on La Jolla Elementary (Unified San Diego School District) campus.\302\240LPA observed 13 daycare children present with 2 staff members including Director in the auditorium during the inspection. During this visit, LPA inspected the auditorium, upper field/black top/ Kindergarten yard and bathroom.\302\240Fire clearance was granted 8/12/24 for capacity of 112 children. First Aid Kit/Medication is located in locked cabinet in the auditorium.\302\240Both are kept inaccessible from children. Facility sign-in and outs are located in auditorium.\302\240Last fire drill was conducted on 1/24/26. Children\342\200\231s and staff records were reviewed and found to be complete.\302\240All indoor and outdoor activity spaces utilized for the school age children were inspected. Auditorium was observed to have age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, bookshelves and other activity supplies for the children.\302\240 LPA observed separate bathroom with privacy.\302\240 There are additional restroom in the kindergarten space and adjacent to black top space. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector located in to auditorium. Snack menu is posted, as well as all other required documents.\302\240LPA observed snacks/food preparation area and observed to be free of rodents and/or vermin.\302\240Snacks are located in cabinet in auditorium and refrigerator.\302\240All foods/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are stored in covered containers at 45 F or less. The outdoor playground area was inspected.\302\240Area has large shade structure and kindergarten space has patio awnings . LPA observed play structure to be age appropriate for children ages 5 years and up.\302\240 Children under 5 years have thier own age appropriate structure. LPA observed appropriate cushioning under structure.\302\240 Drinking water is readily accessible inside and outside the classroom via water bottles and water bottle refill stations.\302\240 Facility representative is reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).\302\240\302\240 LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP.
