What the inspector wrote

On 07/31/2025 at 9:00AM, Licensing Program Analyst, Hanna Lucas, made an unannounced visit for the purpose of an annual inspection. At the time of arrival, no one was on site, LPA reached out to the Director, Heather Addy Crider. Director explained that the facility is on summer break and therefore there are no children or employees actively on site. During normal operation hours, the program is primarily ran outdoors, as the facility has a large, completely fenced, outdoor area. Director met the LPA on site, about 10 minutes later. LPA toured the facility. The rooms were clean and in a comfortable temperature during the visit. Adequate ventilation and heating are available. All required forms were posted. The furniture, books, games, and toys are safe, and age appropriate. There is a variety of activities provided throughout the day. The playground is fully fenced with age-appropriate play equipment. On the playground there is sufficient cushioning and adequate shade. Drinking water is available at all times, as staff ensures that each child has their own personal water bottle. The facility uses bottled water to refill the children\342\200\231s water bottles. Children are evaluated upon entry and monitored throughout the day for signs of illness. The isolation area for ill children waiting to be picked up is the front office. The children bring their own lunches and snacks, however the facility does have packaged snacks on site, if needed. The children\342\200\231s food is labeled and stored in their individual lunch bags. The kitchen refrigerator is available for use, which is clean and orderly. There is no expired or contaminated food present. The food has been stored separately from any chemicals or cleaning products. The menu is posted, changes are recorded, and the menus are stored for 30 days. Napping/bedding equipment is stored separately from the children\342\200\231s play area. Each child has their own cot. Cots are sanitized regularly, and the children\342\200\231s blankets are sent home with the parent, every Friday, to wash thoroughly. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary, and operating condition. There are several staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. Medications are stored in the front office, inaccessible to children with all required documentation on file. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. The carbon monoxide detector (located in the loft) and fire alarm (located in each room) are operational. The facility has a written disaster plan in place, and they have been conducting and documenting evacuation drills every six months. The last drill was conducted on 05/28/2025. The facility does not transport children. Facility uses RingCentral to communicate with parents. LPA reviewed sign in/out sheets, a sample of personnel records and a sample of children's records. The Director was reminded that Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com . LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed the Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice) or (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication. Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA are available at: https://www.ada.gov/resources/child-carecenters/ . LPA confirmed with the Director that the facility does not use any water sources for food preparation or consumption. Therefore, the facility is in compliance with PIN 21-21-CCP, as lead testing is not required for facilities who exclusively use bottled water for drinking and food preparation. Director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
