What the inspector wrote

On 7/27/21 at 1:10 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, met with Manager of Extra Curricular Programs Ariel Arsac-Ellison, for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. As summer camp was in progress until 7/30, Director Elisabeth Esterly was on vacation. There were 36 children present with 7 teachers in two room and a group on the playground. Facility is within ratio and capacity. LPA toured the facility. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Rooms were a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. All storage containers and trashes have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. Children bring one snack and lunch and an additional snack is provided. Snack menu is posted. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. Medications are kept in the nurse's office. Poisons, disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children have been made inaccessible. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. Outdoor play area is fully fenced with sufficient cushioning and adequate shade. Playground equipment and outdoor surfaces are in a safe condition No hazards were noted. Portable water is used. There are no bodies of water, firearms or ammunition on the property. The carbon monoxide detectors are in each room and operational. LPA reviewed a sample of personnel records for a health screening and on-the-job training. A sample of children's records for emergency information and a medical assessment. Children are evaluated upon entry and monitored throughout the day for signs of illness. The isolation are for ill children awaiting pick up is the nurse's office. There are several staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. Facility is reminded the Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com . Sign in/out is electronic. During today's visit, the power went out and the records were not accessible. Paper sign out will be used today as back up. Facility roster is current. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. Services are in place. LPA discussed paperwork and storage with nurse. Licensee is advised to sign up for Quartely website: www.ccld.ca.gov . Select \342\200\234Receive Important Updates\342\200\235 then put the email address in and choose which program(s) you would like to subscribe to and select \342\200\234subscribe.\342\200\235 Updated LIC 500 and 610 received today. The school will update Licensing with the new hours of operation for the upcoming school year. See LIC 809D for deficiencies. Appeal rights were provided and discussed, signature at the bottom of this report confirms receipt. NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS POSTED DURING THIS VISIT AND WILL REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.

This is a potential hazard to children in care.

This is a potential hazard to children in care.
