Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Andrea Taylor conducted an annual inspection as part of a compliance review. This is a combination childcare center and the other licensed program is a preschool program which was also inspected on this date. LPA measured a room added to the infant program in order to increase the capacity from 12 infants to 18 infants. A play yard was also added for infants. The room will accommodate the increase and the yard is large enough for the total capacity of the infant program. Increase is granted. A tour of the inside and outside of the facility was granted and the following was observed and/or noted: \302\267 The following items were posted and updated where necessary: - License - Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC610) and Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC9148) - Parent\342\200\231s Rights Poster (PUB393) - Personal Rights (LIC613A) - Child Car Seat Law - Child Car Seat Law - Menu \302\267 The facility is operating with the limits as stated on the license. \302\267 Ratios are being met during this inspection \302\267 Classrooms are adequately equipped with age and size appropriate furniture and equipment and free of hazards. \302\267 There are no weapons present at the facility as stated by Rosey Fisher \302\267 There are no accessible bodies of water present. All wading pools or similar product must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position. Page 2 \302\267 Drinking water is provided in the indoor activity space by bottles and sippy cups refilled by faucet which has been lead tested and passed - and in the outdoor activity space by sippy cups refilled by faucet which has been lead tested and passed. \302\267 Medications are stored where inaccessible to children \302\267 Hazardous items are stored where inaccessible to children which include: Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous \302\267 Poisons and toxins are locked and inaccessible to children \302\267 All floors were observed to be clean and safe \302\267 Highchairs have no legs staff sit floor with children and trays lock into place \302\267 Changing tables are within arm\342\200\231s reach of a sink; padding is at least 1\342\200\235 thick with raised sides of at least 3\342\200\235 covered in washable vinyl or plastic \302\267 Hand washing is completed before and after each diaper change and before feeding an infant \302\267 Bathrooms were observed to be safe, sanitary and in operating condition; there is at least 1 potty chair for every 5 potty-training infants \302\267 Playgrounds are enclosed by appropriate fencing and free of hazards \302\267 Outdoor activity areas are supplied with age and size appropriate equipment in good condition \302\267 Food preparation area is clean, free of litter and rubbish and free of rodents and other vermin \302\267 Food is stored appropriately and protected from contamination \302\267 All storage containers for solid waste were observed to have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair \302\267 Sign in/Sign out record was reviewed and meets regulation requirements \302\267 Disaster drills are conducted at least every six months \342\200\223 last drill conducted on 2/22/22. Facility just got a new alarm and is planning to do a drill with new alarm. A review of staff and children's records were conducted as part of this evaluation. \302\267 Children\342\200\231s records were found to be complete during this inspection. \302\267 A staff member is present with current Pediatric CPR/First Aid which expires on 5/24 \302\267 Opening and closing staff member\342\200\231s CPR/First Aid expires on 5/24 \302\267 Director completed Health and Safety Training Page 3 \302\267 All staff present meet minimum qualifications for the position for which they were hired. \302\267 A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. Director was reminded that: \302\267 Menus shall be posted at least one week in advance in a place visible by the child\342\200\231s authorized representative, dated and kept on file for 30 days, and made available upon request. \302\267 The areas around or under high climbing equipment, swings, slides, and similar equipment shall be cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. \302\267 The Licensee was informed of their reporting requirements and is provided with the Regional Office\342\200\231s Unusual Incident Reporting email mailbox: UnusualIncidentReportsDO10@dss.ca.gov \302\267 The Licensee can submit transfer forms to associate new individuals or to disassociate someone from your facility at: Associations_Disassociations858@dss.ca.gov LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Page 4 Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
