On 10/3/24 at 12:45 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Annette Sutherland visited the facility to conduct an annual inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with Assistant Director Melissa Thomas and proceeded to tour the facility. During today's inspection, there were 114 children with 16 staff members in 8 classrooms.\302\240\302\240Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed.\302\240 Appropriate care & visual supervision were also observed during the inspection while children were engaged in classroom activities. Furniture and age-appropriate equipment is in good condition.\302\240 Rooms have adequate heating, lighting, ventilation.\302\240 Floors appear to be clean and safe.\302\240 Drinking water is readily accessible.\302\240 Bathrooms are maintained with operational toilets and faucets with appropriate temperature. Paper towels and toilet paper are available. Bathroom is lighted and have ventilation. Food service area consists of a kitchen which is clean and free of hazards. Snack menu is posted. Cleaning supplies are kept separate from food and are inaccessible to children.\302\240Storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers and are kept in good repair.\302\240 Assistant Director stated there are no firearms or other weapons on the premises. All foods/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are stored in covered containers at 45 F or less.\302\240 The facility appears to be free of insects and rodents.\302\240 There is an operational carbon monoxide detector at the facility.\302\240 Last emergency drill was conducted on 9/13/24. Outdoor play area is fenced playground with sufficient material for cushioning.There are no bodies of water at this facility. Climbing structures, slides are securely fixed to the ground. Area has trees and built shade structures used for shade.\302\240 Equipment is age appropriate.\302\240 Area has drinking water readily accessible, and grounds are free of debris or potential hazards. LPA reviewed medication storage.\302\240Personnel records contain health screening documentation and at least one staff member has current CPR and First Aid certifications.\302\240 All staff have completed mandated reporter training and required immunizations.\302\240 Each personnel record contains documentation of educational background and training. Sign ins procedures were reviewed. Children\342\200\231s records contain admission agreements and medical assessment. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.\302\240LPAs observed toddler program is kept separate from preschool program at all times.\302\240Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.\302\240LPAs observed documentation from facility that the water was tested for lead on 10/19/22. LPAs referred facility representative to the Department website for lead: Lead Toxicity Prevention and Water Testing Information.\302\240 LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleepas an additional resource. LPAs also informed facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Facility representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records.\302\240 However, currently there are no children with IMS needs currently enrolled.\302\240 For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP.
