Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 12/10/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Kelli Waters, conducted an unannounced visit to the facility for a separate unrelated issue. LPA met with Site Supervisor, Brenda Ramos to discuss Lead Testing results done in January of 2023. Present during this discussion were Senior Director, Lea Curcio and Director of Facility Maintenance and Operations, Bryson Bickler. The facility conducted lead testing on 01/06/23. Community Care Licensing (CCLD) received testing documents from the collection company and lab results, however CCLD did not receive LIC9275 and LIC9276 for this testing date. This report was not uploaded to the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) .Twenty samples were taken and one exceedance was detected. Faucets reported with 5.5 ppb (parts per billion) or greater lead exceedance levels were as follows: Room #1, faucet/drinking fountain labeled as "J" - 5.66ppb Paperwork submitted with the testing and lab results also provided a work invoice for replacement of the bubbler and waterline in Room #1 done on 01/18/24. Testing was redone for "J" on 02/14/23, although testing reports were not provided. LIC 9276 page 5 with a date of 2/14/23 was the only document submitted. Upon interview with facility personnel, testing results from 02/14/23 were not provided to them as well and are in contact with the lab that conducted the tests to obtain that report. Site Supervisor will email LPA with 02/14/23 report results and any Licensing paperwork obtained. LPA Waters reminded facility personnel that Assembly Bill 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers to test their drinking and cooking water for lead contamination every 5 years after the date of the first lead testing. An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report, and appeal rights were discussed and provided to Site Supervisor, Brenda Ramos. The Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 days.
