What the inspector wrote

On 3/4/24 at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Annette Sutherland visited the facility to conduct an annual inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with Directors Lina Wolf & Cecilia Krongold proceeded to tour the facility. During today's inspection, there were 97 children with 17 staff members in 6 classrooms.\302\240\302\240 Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed.\302\240 Appropriate care & visual supervision were also observed during the inspection while children were engaged in classroom activities. Furniture and age-appropriate equipment is in good condition.\302\240 Rooms have adequate heating, lighting, ventilation.\302\240Floors appear to be clean and safe.\302\240 Drinking water is readily accessible.\302\240 Bathrooms are maintained with operational toilets and faucets with appropriate temperature. Paper towels and toilet paper are available. Bathroom is lighted and have ventilation. Director stated there are no firearms or other weapons on the premises. The facility appears to be free of insects and rodents.\302\240 There is an operational carbon monoxide detector at the facility.\302\240 Last emergency drill was conducted in June 2025.\302\240Outdoor play area is enclosed with sufficient material for cushioning. There are no bodies of water at this facility. Climbing structures and slides are securely fixed to the ground. Equipment is age appropriate.\302\240Facility has drinking water readily accessible, and grounds are free of debris or potential hazards.\302\240 LPA reviewed medication storage.\302\240 Personnel records contain health screening documentation and at least one staff member has current CPR and First Aid certifications.\302\240 All staff have completed mandated reporter training and required immunizations.\302\240 Each personnel record contains documentation of educational background and training. One staff member had not completed required course Child, Family, Community.\302\240 Director stated she would have the staff member enroll in the course.\302\240 Sign ins were reviewed. Children\342\200\231s records contain admission agreements and medical assessment. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.\302\240LPAs observed toddler program is kept separate from preschool program at all times. Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.\302\240 LPAs observed documentation from facility that the water was tested for lead on (insert date) which was after the required testing deadline of 1/1/2023.\302\240 LPAs referred facility representative to the Department website for lead: Lead Toxicity Prevention and Water Testing Information.\302\240 LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleepas an additional resource. LPAs also informed facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Facility representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records.\302\240 However, currently there are no children with IMS needs currently enrolled.\302\240 For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP.
