Routine inspection (3-year)·July 17, 2025

On 07/17/2025 at 12:00PM Licensing Program Analyst, Hanna Lucas, made an unannounced visit for the purpose of annual inspection. LPA met with the Director, Lindsey Malloy, and toured the facility. Facility is currently on their summer schedule, and therefore has a limited number of children and staff. There were 22 children present with 4 teachers in 2 rooms. Facility is within ratio and capacity. LPA toured the facility. The rooms were clean and in a comfortable temperature during the visit. Adequate ventilation and heating are available. All required forms were posted in the front office. The furniture, books, games, and toys are safe, and age appropriate. There is a variety of activities provided throughout the day. The preschool playground is fully fenced with age-appropriate play structures. On the playground there is sufficient cushioning and adequate shade. Drinking water is available at all times, as staff ensures that each child has their own personal water bottle. Children are evaluated upon entry and monitored throughout the day for signs of illness. The isolation area for ill children awaiting pick up is the front office. The parents provide children\342\200\231s lunch and snack. The children\342\200\231s food is labeled and stored in their individual lunch bags, within their individual cubbies. The food has been stored separately from any chemicals or cleaning products. During the summer, children are at the facility until noon and therefore do not take naps while in care. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary, and operating condition. There are several staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. Medications are stored in front office, inaccessible to children with all required documentation on file. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. The carbon monoxide detector in the front office and fire alarm in each classroom are operational. The facility has a written disaster plan in place, and they have been conducting and documenting evacuation drills every six months. The last drill was conducted on \342\200\246The facility does not transport children. The facility uses ProCare to communicate with parents. LPA reviewed sign in/out sheets, a sample of personnel records and a sample of children's records. All were complete and current. The Director was reminded that Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com . LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed the Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance with the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. Director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
