What the inspector wrote

On June 12, 2025 at 1:45pm, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Hector Canton and Saraliz Velando conducted an unannounced annual inspection at the licensed child care center. Upon arrival, LPAs met with director Jessica Villafana Diaz. Census during today\342\200\231s inspection was 38 children in care, with 6 staff providing supervision, director stated 48 children were currently enrolled. The facility was operating within its licensed capacity and staff-to-child ratio requirements at the time of inspection. LPAs toured all indoor and outdoor areas of the facility. Classrooms were observed to be clean, organized, and free of hazards. Floors, surfaces, and furnishings were in good condition. Toys and learning materials were age-appropriate, safely stored, and sufficient in quantity. Restrooms were observed to be sanitary and equipped with appropriate supplies. Drinking water was available both indoors and outdoors. Children bring lunch from home, which is properly stored and emergency food is available and properly stored. Outdoor play areas were securely enclosed and free of hazardous conditions. LPAs observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to be operable, and a fully charged fire extinguisher, which all meet regulation. First aid kits were available and complete. Cleaning products, sharp objects, and other potentially hazardous materials were stored inaccessible to children. Emergency disaster plans and required postings were visible in a prominent area. The last documented emergency drill was conducted on April 10 th 2025. LPAs verified that the lead water testing was conducted in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. continued on LIC 809-C (page 2) Sign-in and sign-out logs were current and complete. LPAs reviewed a sample of children\342\200\231s files, which contained emergency contact information and all required documentation. Staff records were also reviewed. Files contained health screenings, proof of immunizations, and qualifications for the positions held. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications were current for at least one staff present. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. The facility does currently provide IMS. For IMS information, LPAs provided PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. ADA-related information was also provided, including the US Department of Justice toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice), (800) 514-0383 (TTY), and the publication "Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA" available at: https://www.ada.gov/resources/child-care-centers LPAs verified that all staff and adults working in the facility had criminal record clearances associated with the center. The licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100 per person per day, for maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this will be assessed if this regulation is violated. The licensee was informed about the MyChildCarePlan.org website, which helps families find licensed child care and connects them to local Resource and Referral agencies. LPAs also provided the contact email for the Child Care Advocate Program at childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov for questions regarding licensing requirements. No deficiencies were cited during today\342\200\231s inspection. An exit interview was conducted with Jessica Villafana Diaz, and a copy of this report was provided. The licensee was advised to maintain this report on file for public review for three years. A Notice of Site Visit was issued and must remain posted for 30 consecutive days.
