What the inspector wrote

On December 1, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Leilani Curtis visited the facility to conduct an annual inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with Assistant Director Delilah Rodriguez and proceeded to tour the facility. LPA provided the LIC 125, Entrance Checklist to the assistant director. Ms. Rodriguez states that the school age program is not in session. There are no children currently enrolled and there are no staff for the school age program present. The program operates when the school district is closed or not in session. The program last operated 11/21/22-11/23/22. The winter camp or school age program will operate again 12/19/22-1/6/23. LPA observed that furniture and age appropriate equipment is in good condition indoors and outdoors. Children's toilets and hand washing facilities are sanitary. Rooms are safe and clean. The food preparation area is clean. Food and beverages are stored in covered containers at 45 degrees F or less if required, and storage containers for solid waste are covered. Drinking water is readily accessible inside and outside the classroom. Bathrooms are maintained with operational toilets and faucets with appropriate temperature. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Storage area for poisons is locked. The outdoor play area is fenced with adequate material for cushioning. The outdoor play area has canopies used for shade. There are no bodies of water or weapons at this facility. Fire drills are being conducted every 6 months. The facility does not have an operational carbon monoxide detector. The assistant director\342\200\231s First Aid/CPR certification was reviewed, and it is in compliance. LPA reviewed Admission Agreement forms for some of the children who were enrolled during the last camp/session. Sign in/sign out sheets were well maintained for the last camp. Ms. Rodriguez\342\200\231s records contain documentation of education, training, and/or experience. The assistant director states that menus are posted when the facility is operating. LPA reviewed the menu used during the last camp and the menu that will be posted for winter camp. LPA also reviewed the following with Ms. Rodriguez : Updates to the California Department of Public Health Coronavirus Disease 2019 Guidance for Child Care Providers and Programs, PIN 22-28-CCP dated 10/25/22 and the California Department of Public Health Covid-19 Guidance for Child Care Providers and Programs dated 10/21/22. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. Assistant Director Rodriguez was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Assistant Director Rodriguez.
