On 07/20/2023 at\302\2402:00 PM\302\240 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dana Stevens, conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with Director Cynthia Quintana.\302\240 LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. The facility provides\302\240care for children ages 3-5 in 3 classrooms. At the time of this inspection the following ratios were observed: Preschool 1 - Not currently in use. Preschool 2 (3-4 year olds) - 12 children present with 2 staff Preschool 3 (4-5 year olds) - 13 children present with 2 staff There were no bodies of water observed within the premises. Director stated there are no firearms/weapons on the grounds. Furniture and playground equipment are kept in good condition. Facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detector that meets requirements. All toilets and hand washing facilities are safe and working in sanitary conditions. Drinking water is available both indoors and out. Children use disposable cups. Facility does have a kitchen and provides children with breakfast, lunch and two snacks daily. Facility's kitchen and food storage areas are clean and sanitary.\302\240 All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and free of hazards.\302\240 All storage containers for solid waste have a tight-fitting covers that are kept on and in good repair. The child care center is clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children. Roster and children and staff files were reviewed and found complete. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS.
