What the inspector wrote

On 1/25/2022 at 12:00pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Martha Malane arrived at the facility to conduct a change of ownership pre-licensing inspection. LPA met with Director, Tina Prowant and proceeded to tour the facility. Applicant is requesting a capacity of 72 preschool children (age 2 years \342\200\223 5 years) in classrooms 5, 6 and 7. Applicant\342\200\231s planned hours of operation are Monday - Friday 7:30am \342\200\223 5:00pm. Classrooms were inspected and measured the following during this inspection: \302\267 Room 5: Preschool children (age 2 \342\200\223 5 years): measured 808.07 square feet \302\267 Room 6: Preschool children (age 2 \342\200\223 5 years): measured 907.51 square feet \302\267 Room 7: Preschool children (age 2 \342\200\223 5 years): measured 961.25 square feet The indoor space for children measured a total of 1676.83 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 76 children. Classrooms are equipped with age appropriate furniture including mats for napping, tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves and other materials for children. There are six (6) toilets and seven (7) sinks available for use, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. However, one (1) faucet in room 5 is not working at this time. Director stated drinking water will be available inside and outside via water jugs and sippy cups. There is a separate restroom for staff located across from room 6. The staff restroom and director\342\200\231s office will be utilized for isolation if a child becomes ill. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are kept and made inaccessible to children in the kitchen. The kitchen currently includes a stove, oven, refrigerator, micro-wave oven, dishwasher and food supply. The facility provides snacks and meals. The facility utilizes a Curacubby for sign in and sign out. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector and first aid kit available with required supplies. Continued See LIC809C\342\200\246 The outdoor activity space was inspected and measured a total of 4046.66 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 53 children. Applicant stated they will apply for an outdoor activity space waiver for preschool children to share the outdoor space on a scheduled basis to accommodate the requested capacity of 72. Shade is provided through the use of trees and canopies. LPA observed toys and equipment available for outdoor play. Proper supervision and placement of staff outside was discussed to ensure the safety of children at all times. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) was discussed. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA and director discussed the following resources: Quarterly Update (Winter 2021/2022) and PIN 21-02-CCLD regarding Guardian. A fire clearance was granted 12/14/21. Prior to licensure the following is needed: \302\267 Outdoor activity space waiver An exit interview was conducted with Director, Tina Prowant and the following reports were discussed and provided: LIC809, LIC809C and appeal rights. Once the listed requirement has been met and proof submitted to CCL, a license may be granted after a final file review.
